West produced a fantastic display to come from two goals down to snatch the 3 points late against a very good Oughterard team who were aiming for 5 wins on the bounce.

Oughterard struck twice in the 1st half hour to go two up courtesy of Two brilliant Johnny Heaney goals,West hit the post through Ethan Mannion and the same player was also foiled by a great stop from the Oughterard custodian.

In a brilliant game of ball it could of been 4-4 at half time but West were left with a mountain to climb in the 2nd half.

Kyryl Kyryyenko at 16 years of age showed maturity well beyond his years as he propelled a brilliant 2nd half by West,He pulled one back on 50 minutes when he found himself through on goal he finished brilliantly from an acute angle.

West tails were now up and Ethan Mannion struck a post for a second time before West equalised on 60 minutes when Barry McEntee's long range effort was tipped onto the bar Kyryl Kyryyenko was quickest to react to bundle the ball home and make it 2-2.

Both teams went for it and Sean O Connor was denied the winner when he fired home but had just strayed into an offside position,Oughterard were then handed a golden chance to win the game from the peno spot on 85 minutes but they hit the post much to West's relief.

The game was to have one final twist and when West were awarded a free kick on 90 minutes up stepped Ethan Mannion to curl home a brilliant winner and seal a memorable comeback victory.

Of the 15 players used 12 were 21 or younger Special mention for 16 year old Kyryl Kyryyenko who scored 2 goals on his first start for the Junior Team.

Ryan Cubbard Finn Hiney Padraig Faherty and Alan Ryan had fantastic games in a brilliant squad performance,Where all 4 subs had a huge impact off the bench.

Great to see so many young players starting to be developed by the Club,Credit to the underage coaches for their hard work
