What a brilliant advertisement for underage soccer in Pat Manogue Park as the two City Rivals went toe to toe for a pulsating 70+ minutes.

The top of the table clash was played in front of a massive crowd and neither team gave an inch in a full blooded battle played in great spirits.

Rangers drew 1st blood with a well taken goal but all season Finn McAfee has been a man on a mission and he equalised with a great finish to leave the game 1-1 at HT,West goalkeeper Artem Kyryyenko took off one unbelievable save in the 1st half.

West improved massively in the 2nd half and Cillian Hynes assisted Finn McAfee who again showed his ruthless streak in front of goal to fire West 2-1 in front with 10 gone in the 2nd half.

Rangers came roaring back and equalised with a goal within in 10 minutes,2-2 with 15 min to go neither side settled for a point and it was West who got the winner when Shay Lydon released Fionn Hynes down the right wing snd Fionn whipped in a sublime ball across the face of the goal and like all good strikers Rory Noone was 1st to ball to fire the matchwinner and keep West on top of the table.

West back 4 of Ethan Barrett Cillian Hynes William Hynes and Micah Bello were outstanding throughout and Shay Lydon in the middle dominated that sector with his physicality and appetite for winning dirty ball and when the chances presented themselves McAfee and Noone added to their growing goal tallies.

Credit both teams on a fantastic display of football,Coaches Rodney Alan and Paul can be very proud of the work done with this squad,They've shown massive improvement all year.
